Introduction

The Mobile Phone DS Lite is a handheld game console manufactured by Nintendo and released in 2004 in Canada, US and Japan. This is the first Nintendo game console that got released in the US prior to Japan. It has a clamshell design with two LCD screens in it of which one is a touch screen. The Nintendo DS supports WI-FI wireless standards and features a built-in microphone.  This lets the players interact with each other while playing within a short range of 10 to 30 meters depending on certain conditions. The players can interact with the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection service too. The name refers to dual screen as it is the most obvious feature of this gaming system.

Playing and downloading

You can play multiplayer games using one game card by choosing titles like “Meteas, Mario Kart DS, New Super Mario Bros and Yoshi and Go. The only requirement is that the systems should be within the wireless range of 100 feet of each other. You can download the data needed from the guest system to the host system by choosing the DS download play option from the main menu. There are DS Download Stations who sell DS games that allow you to download DS and Wii games. But once the system is switched off the games get erased due to memory limitations. 

Features

The PictoChat interface allows users to chat with each other with text and pictures using the stylus and touch screen. Up to sixteen people can communicate from four chat rooms. The Nintendo DS is compatible with Game Boy Advance GBA cartridges using slot 1 and the Game Boy Advance games can be played using the slot 2. The Nintendo DS headset comes with a microphone and earphone. Nintendo MP3 player comes as add on to the Nintendo DS with secure digital cards that store MP3 files.
